At least one person has been killed in a shooting at a church in the western US state of California. 4 more people were seriously injured. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon local time. The incident comes a day after at least 10 people were killed in a shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Los Angeles,

California, said in a tweet that a gunman had been shot dead at a local Geneva Presbyterian church on Sunday afternoon. Four seriously injured people have been admitted to the hospital. All of the casualties are adults.

Local police have arrested a suspect in a church shooting with a weapon. However, his name was not disclosed. Initially, the police could not say anything about the cause of this incident. Security has been beefed up in the area.

At least 10 people were killed when gunmen opened fire on a Tops Friendly supermarket in Buffalo, New York, on Saturday afternoon. 3 more people were injured. Of the 13 casualties, 11 were black. The other two are white.

Soon after the incident, police arrested 16-year-old white Peyton Gendron from the supermarket as a suspect. He is a resident of Southern Tire, New York, near the Pennsylvania border. Police said Payton carried out the attack out of racism.

New York Governor Kathy Hutchul said the attacker had publicized his heinous act directly on social media. He is disappointed that the platform from which it was broadcast did not take any action.

U.S. President Joe Biden condemned the Buffalo incident,

Calling it “disgusting.” He says there is no safe haven for hatred. We must do everything we can to end hate terrorism.

Earlier in March, a father shot and killed his three minor children at a church in Sacramento, California. He later committed suicide. In April, at least eight people were killed and nine were injured when gunmen opened fire on a road in the same city.
